MES

Iotellect Monitoring MES (Manufacturing Execution System) is a software solution built on the Iotellect core.
It connects enterprise-level production planning (ERP layer) with shop-floor automation and equipment control (SCADA/PLC layer). Its primary goal is to increase efficiency, transparency, and controllability of production processes.

Iotellect Monitoring MES helps enterprises enhance operational performance, reduce costs, and improve product quality. It is particularly effective in industries where precision, speed, and full process control are essential.

Key Features

  • A flexible platform for implementing MES systems for continuous, discrete, or batch-based production.

  • Implementation of ISA-95 processes in alignment with the company’s real-world practices rather than theoretical models.

  • Use of the Classes module to model custom business objects specific to the company and their relationships with standard MES entities such as batches and work orders.

  • Configurable production planning module tailored to the enterprise’s actual workflow.

  • Unified architecture with dispatch and SCADA-level systems.

  • Management of downtime and operational efficiency for production lines, individual installations, and operators — including tracking by product type.

Core Functions

Downtime Management

  • Management of planned downtimes according to the internal production calendar.

  • Retrieval of maintenance data from ERP or external EAM systems.

  • Tracking and accounting for unplanned downtimes.

  • Generation of statistical process quality reports.

  • Automatic suppression of alarms at SCADA and Edge levels during scheduled downtimes.

  • Optional full implementation of maintenance and repair (EAM) processes directly within MES.

Batch and Recipe Management

  • Unified HMI/SCADA/MES-based batch and recipe management without the need for complex integration chains.

  • Flexible batch control based on the Classes module and relational databases, with the ability to add custom attributes and links between batches and other objects in the production model.

  • Recipe management through the Models module with direct application of parameters to controllers and equipment when the Iotellect platform serves as the dispatching layer.

  • MES-level verification ensuring correct automatic reconfiguration of equipment when a recipe is applied.

Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)

  • OEE assessment across processes, installations, production lines, and the entire facility.

  • Reporting by product and operator.

  • Identification of the impact of each of the six loss factors on overall OEE performance.

  • Assistance in line tuning and achieving planned targets.

  • Automatic synchronization of ERP and EAM systems with up-to-date production data.

  • Result: lower operating costs and higher efficiency.

Statistical and Advanced Process Control (SPC / APC)

  • Flexible configuration of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Advanced Process Control (APC).

  • Dozens of chart types and thousands of configuration options for dynamic, production-specific dashboards.

  • Support for combined data sources: internal MES data, Iotellect SCADA/HMI data, third-party SCADA systems, direct PLC and gateway data streams, and EAM/ERP inputs.

  • Use of both standard statistical analysis methods and advanced algorithms for machine learning and anomaly detection.

Production Planning

  • Highly flexible implementation of discrete and batch production planning.

  • Ability to design a complete production process model on the MES side while maintaining master data at the EAM/ERP and SCADA levels.

  • Low-code integration across any protocols and use cases without traditional programming.

  • Automatic generation of process quality reports.

  • Dynamic visualization of production calendars via Gantt charts.

  • Optional support for multi-agent scheduling (“virtual marketplace” of autonomous agents placing and executing orders).

Business Process Management (BPM)

  • Full BPM functionality based on the built-in Processes module.

  • Visual process design in a dedicated editor.

  • Combination of back-end production logic and operator interaction logic within a single workflow.

  • Universal UI procedures for rapid configuration of operator interactions.

  • Ability to model ERP- or EAM-level processes and associated data structures directly within MES.

  • Document and master-data repository implementation on the platform, linking documents to production models and workflow steps.

Product Labeling and Traceability

  • Direct connection of scanning points based on RFID, QR codes, and other identification technologies.

  • Database for tracking the flow of components, raw materials, by-products, and finished goods throughout the production process.

  • Flexible data visualization using graphs, diagrams, and tables.

  • Linking of traceability checkpoints to digital twins of installations, production lines, and storage facilities.

  • Low-code integration with supply-chain and distribution systems, whether ERP-based or custom-developed.

Vertically Integrated MES

  • Complete manufacturing automation stack implemented on the Iotellect platform — the only fully vertically integrated production-management platform on the Russian market.

  • Technological parity with leading global vertically integrated industrial platforms.

  • Dispatch-level implementation based on Iotellect SCADA/HMI and Edge/SoftPLC levels built on Iotellect Edge.

  • Data acquisition from third-party SCADA systems or directly from field devices over any industrial protocol.

  • Broad functional coverage, enabling EAM and ERP-level tasks to be executed directly on the Iotellect platform.
