Export Context

The Export Context action exports a single non-container context to a *.prs file. Use it to save the persistent configuration of a context for later import.

When you click Export, the system runs different actions depending on the context type. In object (non-container) contexts (for example, Model, Device, Dashboard), it runs exportContext. In container contexts (for example, Models, Devices, Dashboards), it runs export. See Export for the container export flow.

Example: If you run Export from a non-container context (for example, a device named virtual), the system exports its persistent properties to a single file named virtual.prs.

Action Flow:

  • Open a non-container context.

  • From the context menu, select Export.

  • Review the export item (Persistent Properties) and the resulting file name (<contextName>.prs).

  • Download/save the generated *.prs file.

A single *.prs file that contains the exported context configuration (persistent properties).
