Resource Validity

Resource validity is a mechanism that allows a relationship to be created between a given resource and any number of other resources by marking the first resource as “valid for” or “compatible with” the others. The nature of the relationship between resources can be different depending on the types of resources involved, for example:

  • If a relative dashboard is valid for a certain context, it can be opened via the context menu of that context. Also, the path to the context becomes the Default Context of the dashboard’s expressions environment.

  • If a relative report is valid for a certain context, it may take data from this context to fill in the template when report is being created.

  • If a certain context is valid for a dynamic group, it will be automatically added to this group.

  • If a relative model is valid for a context, a dedicated copy of this model will be created and attached to this context in order to interact with it.
