Startup and Shutdown
In most cases, the server runs in background service mode. However, a manual startup can be also used, especially at first stages of system deployment, configuration, and testing.
Different ways to stop the server are described in the Shutting Down The Server article.
 | Iotellect Server may need to access privileged ports, i.e. port numbers below 1024. For example, it listens for SNMP Traps on UDP port 162. Therefore there are many cases where Linux users should run Iotellect Server with root user privileges. |
