SNMP Setup on Microsoft SQL Server

Verify whether SNMP agent is running on the server. If it is not, refer to SNMP Setup on Windows Systems.

Then, start the SQLSERVERAGENT service following the steps given below

Starting SQLSERVERAGENT Service on Windows XP, 2003, or 2000

  • Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel
  • Double-click Administrative Tools, and then double-click Computer Management

• In the console tree, click Services and Applications and then click Services

• Right-click SQLSERVERAGENT and click Start

Starting SQLSERVERAGENT Service on Windows NT

  • Right-click on the Network Neighborhood icon on the Desktop
  • Click Properties
  • Click Services
  • Right-click SQLSERVERAGENT and click Start
