Creating HMIs

In terms of Iotellect SCADA/HMI, a Human-Machine Interface (HMI) is a standard dashboard. A dashboard serving as an HMI is usually characterized by:

• Vector Drawing component placed to the Root panel and aligned to occupy the whole Root panel’s space

• Vector primitives used within the above Vector Drawing to solve basic HMI design tasks (such as drawing pipes or electrical lines)

• Dynamic Vector Drawing or Image components (pipes, tanks, fans, and other HMI Symbol Library images) placed into the “base” vector drawing and serving as templates displaying specific equipment

• Implant and Sub-dashboard components used to represent more complex template, such as an SVG-based motor with attached control buttons, setpoint fields, and mini-trends

• Separate (non-templated) Labels, Text Fields, Sliders and other components used for monitoring certain metrics and changing setpoint values

• Buttons for opening other HMIs (dashboards) via server actions or triggering certain equipment operations

To create a dashboard for an HMI in Iotellect:

• Right-click on the dashboard node in the System Tree

• Select the Create Dashboard item from the context menu

• Enter Name and Description of the dashboard
