Creating HMIs

In terms of Iotellect SCADA/HMI, a Human-Machine Interface (HMI) is a standard dashboard. A dashboard serving as an HMI is usually characterized by:

  • Absolute (non-grid) layout that simplifies component positioning

  • Optional background image displaying an overall view of managed industrial process

  • Certain dynamic Image or Vector Drawing components (pipes, tanks, fans, etc) placed over the background and indicating the state of corresponding equipment

  • Labels, Text Fields, Sliders and other components used for monitoring certain metrics and changing setpoint values

  • Buttons for opening other HMIs (dashboards) via server actions or triggering certain equipment operations
