Iotellect Monitoring MES Performance and OEE

The OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) module in the MES system is a core analytical tool for assessing and improving equipment utilization efficiency. It enables enterprises to evaluate how effectively production assets operate, identify sources of loss, and optimize overall production performance.

Purpose of the OEE Module

  1. Measuring Equipment Efficiency
The OEE module evaluates how effectively equipment is used in production by analyzing three key performance indicators:

  • Availability – the percentage of time the equipment is actively operating without downtime.

  • Performance – the actual production speed compared with the equipment’s designed maximum rate.

  • Quality – the percentage of good output (defect-free products).

  1. Identifying Losses
The module helps detect and categorize efficiency losses, including:

  • Equipment downtime, both planned and unplanned.

  • Reduced operating speed.

  • Defects and rework.

  1. Analytics and Reporting
OEE analytics provide insight into the root causes of performance losses and generate detailed reports that support data-driven decisions for process improvement.

  2. Continuous Improvement
OEE data serves as the foundation for developing initiatives that enhance the efficiency of equipment and production lines, driving ongoing operational improvement.
